CoastEye Data Platform

CoastEye addresses the challenge of combining sparse in‑situ measurements with broad‑area satellite observations so ports, offshore wind developers and coastal engineers can make timely, evidence‑based decisions. The platform ingests data from TechWorks' deployed buoys and data acquisition systems and augments these with satellite Earth Observation (notably Sentinel‑1 SAR, Sentinel‑2 and Sentinel‑3) to provide continuous situational awareness across marine project areas. Analysts and engineers use CoastEye for site assessment, environmental monitoring and operational support without needing to manually reconcile multiple data streams.

Key capabilities:

• Satellite EO Ingestion & Processing: Automated ingest and pre‑processing of SAR and optical satellite imagery (Sentinel‑1, Sentinel‑2, Sentinel‑3) for surface monitoring, water quality and change detection.
• In‑Situ Fusion: Integrates buoy, MiniBuoy and ADCP metocean measurements with satellite observations to produce coherent time‑series and validation datasets, including chlorophyll, turbidity and total suspended matter (TSM).
• Real‑time Monitoring & Alerts: Near‑real‑time dashboards and configurable alerts for threshold breaches and anomalous events, delivered via satellite communication from deployed buoys.
• Time‑Series & Change Detection: Tools to detect and quantify environmental change (sea state, surface features, water quality) over time.
• APIs & Data Access: Programmatic access and exportable datasets for downstream modelling and client workflows.

CoastEye is distinctive because it operationalises combined satellite and sensor workflows for marine clients — backed by TechWorks' operational buoy deployments, metocean expertise and Earth Observation data science capability — and was developed under ESA's InCubed commercialisation programme.
