Remot

Remot is a web and mobile platform from Spascat Technologies for monitoring vineyards and other woody crops with satellite imagery. It addresses the time agronomic technicians spend checking parcels on foot by showing which parts of which parcels need attention, so field work can be targeted.

Users add parcels by their SIGPAC code, by drawing a polygon on the map or by uploading a JSON/GeoJSON file. For each parcel Remot computes vegetation-index maps (NDVI, NDRE, CCCI, TCARI/OSAVI, EVI and EVI2), splits the parcel into sectors by index value, compares dates and keeps a historical analysis. Copernicus Sentinel-2 is the standard imagery source; an "Enhanced Monitoring" upgrade adds daily updates at 3 m from Planet SuperDove, and single very-high-resolution images can be purchased. The app also offers imagery from Menut, the Catalan Earth-observation nanosatellite. Teams can create alerts, plan georeferenced inspections and record them from the field in the mobile app, and manage irrigation sectors and irrigation plans based on weather forecasts and the historical evolution of each parcel's vegetation indices. A premium module analyses drone or aircraft orthophotos to count trees, measure their height and map mortality areas.

Remot builds on MOT and REMOT, two winning projects of the IEEC Earth Observation Use Case competitions for the private sector, developed with Agropixel and Raventos Codorniu; REMOT was incorporated into the ESA Phi-Lab Spain portfolio. In 2026 Spascat worked with Raimat to validate it as a decision-support tool for field work and precision irrigation. The app is in early access: accounts require approval, use is free during a trial, and continued use is by subscription on request.
