Carto

The Spheer App (commercially known as Carto) is a SaaS geo-AI platform that ingests Sentinel-2 satellite imagery and produces ready-to-use maps, change-detection products, and historical trend analyses dating back to 2017. Built on an in-house geospatial foundation model trained on years of time-series satellite data, it enables users to train custom monitoring models directly in the browser — requiring only a handful of example observations — and obtain a usable map within approximately 10 minutes, representing a claimed 95% reduction in analysis time.

The platform is designed for organisations without specialised data teams: no AI or satellite knowledge is required. It scales from individual municipalities to entire provinces (2.58+ million hectares) and supports nature conservation, agriculture, water management, urban planning, and climate-adaptation use cases. Outputs are exported in standard GIS formats compatible with QGIS and ArcGIS, and an API is available for advanced integrations. The product is designed to comply with the European AI Act and currently serves 150+ active users across 20+ organisations, including provincial governments and water authorities.
