Advanced Transportation Features by Ecopia AI is an off-the-shelf planimetric vector dataset of transportation infrastructure: sidewalks, crosswalks, bike lanes, road and turn lanes, medians, paint striping and road markings, intersections, tree canopy and more. Layers are attributed with details such as width, material and feature type (for example, left- versus right-turn lane). Ecopia's AI extracts the features from Nearmap's high-resolution aerial imagery with >95% geometric accuracy: 60+ transportation layers at launch, within a 75+-layer off-the-shelf land cover and transportation catalogue. The off-the-shelf dataset launched in January 2026 across 100 North American cities, with expansion to Nearmap's wider coverage area (more than 1.5 million km²) announced; custom extraction is available for other areas or from customer-supplied imagery. Users browse coverage, download free samples and buy data through Ecopia's self-service Data Portal, with downloads in shapefile, GeoJSON or DXF for GIS and CAD workflows. Primary use cases include ADA compliance, Vision Zero traffic and pedestrian safety analysis, active-transportation and right-of-way planning, permitting and community planning. Customers include DOTs, metropolitan planning organisations, public agencies and AEC firms such as the Chicago Metropolitan Agency for Planning, SEMCOG, the Pima Association of Governments and Fehr & Peers.
