AIR ANALYTICS

AIR ANALYTICS is Geospatial Insight's air-quality monitoring service. It fuses satellite observations with ground-based sensor measurements and advanced analytics to gather data on pollutants, their sources and their dispersion patterns, at both regional and site-specific levels. Integrating local measurement stations enhances the modelling and reveals local variations and pollution hotspots.

Key capabilities:

• Pollutant Monitoring: Tracks pollutant gases such as nitrogen dioxide and ozone, as well as particulates, by combining satellite and ground-based data.
• Hotspot & Source Analysis: Identifies local hotspots, pollution sources and dispersion patterns so interventions can be targeted.
• Continuous Monitoring: Continuous data collection and analysis give up-to-date information on pollution levels for timely decisions.
• Trend Analysis: Historical data helps identify long-term patterns and shape air-pollution mitigation strategies.
• Online Platform: Results are delivered through a secure, easy-to-use online platform.

Target stakeholders include government agencies, commercial organisations, research institutions, healthcare facilities, urban planners and communities. The service builds on a 2018 UK Space Agency Space for Smarter Government Programme project that Geospatial Insight led with Cherwell District Council. The project's Breathe Clean app, trialled in Bicester, mapped air-pollution exposure and let users compare routes by exposure.
