Æther

Æther is Alteia's cloud visual-intelligence platform, billed as 'the operating system for vision AI'. It ingests drone, satellite (RGB, multispectral and SAR, including Sentinel-2), airborne, lidar, thermal, mobile-mapping, fixed-camera and smartphone data. It fuses this with enterprise data into a single contextualised 2D/3D representation of a site or network. AI workflows run on the fused layer: change detection, stockpile and cut/fill volumes, vegetation and encroachment analysis, road-condition assessment and defect classification. Pix4D/Metashape photogrammetry and time-series tools sit alongside them. Users get results through 2D/3D views, automated CSV/PDF reports and a mobile field app. A CLI, APIs and a Python SDK handle integration with enterprise systems. The platform is hosted on AWS, can pull data from Amazon S3, Azure Blob and Google Cloud storage, and has role-based access control and audit tools. Customers include Enedis, Eramet, Cemex, Veolia, Orange, BASF, Vinci and the World Bank. A road-network application built on Æther for the World Bank assessed 500,000 km of roads in three weeks. Alteia was acquired by GE Vernova in 2025, and its technology now also powers GE Vernova's GridOS Visual Intelligence for utilities.
