Linda Forest Biodiversity

LINDA Biodiversity provides biodiversity indices and assessments by combining satellite-derived vegetation information (spectral and structural indicators) with AI models trained on country-specific datasets. The product outputs a biodiversity index score (0–1) that reflects the stage and health of a forest from a biodiversity perspective, identifies high-value biodiversity hotspots suitable for protection and subsidies, and provides actionable management recommendations to improve biodiversity outcomes.

Capabilities include deadwood inventory assessment, near-real-time change detection, and support for regulatory reporting frameworks such as CSRD, SFDR, and EU Taxonomy. Satellite multispectral imagery supplies ecological indicators at scale, enabling monitoring, reporting, and prioritisation of conservation or management actions. The product is currently available in Finland and Sweden, with operational adoption by large forestry organisations including Metsähallitus, Sveaskog, and Metsä Group.
